Under the terms of my Animal Boarding Licence with Argyll & Bute Council, Killeonan Cat Lodge is required to record information on cats and their owners. This includes names, addresses, telephone numbers, details of the cats and a copy of their vaccination certificates and medical history. I also require to have details of the cats’ vet and an emergency contact, nominated by the owner, in the event of someone having to collect the cat in their absence -only in the event of an emergency situation arising. This data is provided by my customers by completion of a booking form in person at the cattery, via email, attachment on Facebook IM or via telephone and is printed off and kept in a paper file format for two years, then destroyed. My customers intimate their agreement to providing such information by way of a signature which is considered to denote agreement for all subsequent bookings for the cat(s) named on the form. My booking diary is in the form of a spread sheet on my computer which only specifies the name of the cat and the time of arrival. I do not share any information with third parties, except that Argyll and Bute Council reserves the right to inspect my records for annual renewal of my licence to prove compliance.
